This would give ETFs roughly 4.5 times the price impact of corporate buying. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart estimates that ETFs could surpass mutual funds in assets under management within two to three years, after accounting for 40.21% of total fund assets in September 2026. The ETFs’ rolling 12-month growth rate reached 3.74% in September 2026, above the historical average of 2.78% since the 2020 market bottom, potentially allowing them to reach 50% of fund assets as early as September 2028. However, Bitcoin ETFs recorded $869.82 million in outflows from November 1 to 5, 2026, as Bitcoin fell to $76,102.46 and broader crypto markets showed risk-off sentiment.
