The Solana Foundation limited participation in the Solana Foundation Delegation Program to 12 months under rules that took effect on November 6, 2026. The program will now delegate its stake to no more than 100 validators at a time, which must leave once their external stake exceeds 300,000 SOL. Vote-cost coverage declines from 100% to 0% during the first year, while validator commissions are capped at 5% and concentration limits apply to data centers and networks. As of Epoch 1077, 337 validators were participating in the program and held about 23.74 million SOL from the Foundation, representing nearly 5% of total staked SOL, compared with almost 44% at its inception. Participants exceeding the new limits will be retired in weekly tranches and will be allowed to apply again.
