Bitcoin stages V-shaped recovery after midterm dip below $76,000

Bitcoin erased its early losses within hours after falling to roughly $75,630 on November 4, 2026, following reports of a Democratic sweep of the House and Senate. Before the vote, prediction market Kalshi assigned a 94% chance to Democrats winning the House and a 74% chance of winning the Senate. 10x Research founder Markus Thielen said Bitcoin could rebound toward $82,000 and set a $90,000 year-end target, while warning that another decline into the mid-to-high $70,000s remains possible. The stalled CLARITY Act, which passed the House in July 2025, is the main political issue to watch before the new Congress convenes in January 2027. More than $1 billion also flowed out of US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds, while a $6.3 billion security incident involving a Binance hot wallet weighed on investor sentiment.
