Blockchain investigator ZachXBT identified Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the alleged victim of a crypto theft exceeding $133 million. He said the institution, which he described as having $235 billion in assets, was exploited over several days and that losses could be higher because of over-the-counter transactions not included in earlier estimates. Suspicious withdrawals from centralized exchanges were initially valued at more than $106 million and later raised to over $133 million after additional withdrawals of $27 million were discovered. Approximately $63 million in stablecoins were reportedly converted into ETH within four hours, while Kraken and Crypto.com blocked funds associated with the suspected theft. Crédit Mutuel Arkéa has not confirmed its involvement, and ZachXBT has not disclosed how the attackers gained access to the funds.
