New Jersey has dropped its lawsuit against Coinbase’s staking service and lifted the order that prevented residents from using the program since June 6, 2023. Users are expected to be able to resume staking shortly and earn rewards again on tokens they already hold. Their missed rewards are estimated at at least $15 million during the suspension. The decision follows the SEC’s dismissal of its parallel case against Coinbase in February 2026 and the dismissal of similar actions in several other states. Restrictions remain in California, Maryland, Washington, and Wisconsin, where missed rewards across restricted states are estimated to exceed $110 million.
