According to Binance’s Proof of Reserves report published on October 31, 2026, client funds remain fully backed despite the October 29 hack, when about $6.3 billion was withdrawn from wallets across ten blockchains. Coverage stands at 100.99% for XRP and 100.83% for the RLUSD stablecoin, while client liabilities for XRP increased by 20.84 million coins. Binance froze roughly $3 billion of stolen funds with help from partners, then committed more than $6.34 billion of its own capital, drawn from the SAFU fund, the Binance Futures insurance fund and retained earnings. The remaining 5% gap involves low-liquidity tokens that the exchange is quietly buying back through over-the-counter transactions to avoid crashing spot prices. Clients can verify their balances using Merkle trees and zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs).
