The Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin suspended deposits and withdrawals on November 2 after detecting a security incident in one of its systems. The exchange says no customers suffered financial losses and no data was stolen, but it has not disclosed the total financial impact or a reopening date. It published addresses used on Bitcoin, Solana, Stellar, Tron, Ethereum and other compatible networks to help trace the affected funds. Tether froze more than 4.5 million USDT linked to the incident, while the exchange continues its investigation with the relevant authorities. The intervention follows the theft of approximately $6.3 billion from Binance and the exploitation of vulnerabilities in older versions of BTCPay Server software.
