Share

Binance resumed customer withdrawals on Sunday, four days after hackers drained roughly $6.3 billion from its hot wallets in the largest crypto theft on record. The rollout began with bitcoin and expanded to 15 networks, processing about $4.65 billion in withdrawals against $1.01 billion in deposits between 06:00 and 15:30 UTC. The exchange said it had replenished 95% of the impacted amount with company funds, its futures insurance fund and corporate treasury, with the remaining balance held in less liquid tokens that are taking longer to acquire. The FBI attributed the attack to North Korea, about $1.57 billion in USDT and more than $800 million in USDC were frozen, and roughly $3.3 billion in stolen funds remains unaccounted for.
