At least $5.57 billion in cryptocurrency left wallets linked to Binance across Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Tron, according to an on-chain tally. Binance said it was investigating a “potential security issue” without confirming any impact to user funds, while the first transaction moved 167,464 ETH and 63 token transfers, including $1.615 billion in USDT. Tether froze $975.1 million in USDT and Circle froze $823 million in USDC, totaling about $1.8 billion, in the main receiving wallet. Bitcoin fell below $79,000, BNB dropped about 7%, and Monero rose about 6%. If confirmed, the incident would be more than triple the roughly $1.5 billion Bybit heist from February 2025 and become the largest cryptocurrency hack on record.
