The Eurozone Bitcoin Consumer Price Index, compiled by Samara Asset Group, fell 18.90% month over month in September. The same basket of goods and services used to measure official inflation therefore cost substantially less in Bitcoin than it did a month earlier. This reversed the previous 7.36% increase, while the year-on-year comparison stood at minus 13.37% before the September report. Over the same period, Eurozone annual inflation rose from 3.2% to 3.8%, driven in part by an 18.9% increase in energy prices. The index is presented as a complement to the official measure rather than a substitute, since wages, rent and bills remain denominated mainly in euros.
