Stripe and Plasma announced on October 15, 2026 that they plan to expand their multi-currency stablecoin cards to more than 100 countries by 2027. The cards will allow users to spend USDC, OUSD, and other GENIUS Act-compliant stablecoins, as well as balances in the US dollar, Brazilian real, euro, Mexican peso, and Colombian peso, without currency-exchange fees or delays linked to international transfers. Automatic currency selection at the point of purchase is also planned. The service is already available in more than 30 countries, and monthly spending through Stripe’s stablecoin card infrastructure is estimated at approximately $1.2 billion in 2026. Plasma will contribute its blockchain built for stablecoin transactions and its Plasma One neobanking app, whose customers’ multi-currency accounts will transition to Stripe’s card infrastructure.
