Robinhood Ventures invested $10 million in Cognition, the San Francisco startup behind Devin, an AI coding agent designed to execute tasks, fix bugs and automate software workflows. The deal, announced on October 23, 2026, follows a $75 million commitment to OpenAI in 2026, placing Robinhood’s venture arm on both sides of the competition between Codex and Devin. Cognition raised $2 billion in a Series E in September 2026 at a $48 billion post-money valuation, up from $26 billion in May. Its revenue grew from approximately $492 million to nearly $900 million over the same period, driven largely by enterprise adoption of Devin by clients including NVIDIA, Citi, GE Aerospace and Mercedes-Benz.
