A study commissioned by Coinbase and conducted by The Block Pro Research estimates adjusted stablecoin transfers at $891 billion in the third quarter of 2026. The figure excludes transfers involving exchanges, decentralized finance, bridges, stablecoin issuance or redemption, and automated transactions. It is more than four times the $216 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2023, with an annualized growth rate of 49.9% since the beginning of that period. The report projects nearly $1,500 billion in quarterly transfer volume by the fourth quarter of 2027 if the current pace continues. A separate analysis found that 73% of screened stablecoin transfer volume occurred outside U.S. banking hours during the 12 months ended July 31, 2026, but it includes automated transactions and therefore cannot be applied to the adjusted $891 billion figure.
