The French National Assembly indefinitely postponed Tuesday’s vote on the 2027 budget’s revenue section due to 2,828 amendments still awaiting examination. However, the tax on cryptocurrency conversions to MiCA-compliant stablecoins was adopted by a single vote (38 to 37), after former minister Olivia Grégoire confirmed she accidentally voted in favor when intending to vote against. This measure removes the tax deferral and subjects crypto-to-stablecoin exchanges to a 31.4% flat tax. Two other crypto fiscal measures are still pending review: an exit tax on wallets exceeding 800,000 euros and mandatory declaration of self-hosted wallets above 100,000 euros. The overall budget vote remains scheduled for November 17, with a 70-day deadline expiring on December 17.
