Stablecoins now account for 44% of Canadian dollar crypto order book volume, up from 30% a year earlier, according to Chainalysis’s 2026 North America Crypto Adoption report. Remittances are the main driver, with transfer flows rising 141% year over year to reach $2.36 billion, including roughly $61 million through the Philippines corridor alone. Canada’s crypto economy grew 2.3% to $247.7 billion, outperforming a slight decline across the broader North American market. This growth is fueled in part by Canada’s foreign-born population, which represents 23% of residents, the highest share in the G7, driving demand for cost-effective cross-border payment solutions.
