According to a study by stablecoin payments network Borderless.xyz, stablecoin-funded remittances are 84% cheaper than traditional wire transfers. For a $200 transfer, the median cost is $2 via stablecoin versus $12.72 for conventional transfers. These savings are particularly pronounced in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, where fees reach 2.9% and 1.25% respectively, compared to 8.46% and 5.64% for traditional transfers. For business payments of $10,000 to the eurozone, stablecoin fees range from $26 to $52, versus $135 to $150 for a traditional international bank wire. Standard Chartered expects this market to reach $2 trillion by 2030.
