‘Not that important to us’ — Saylor downplays MSCI’s plan to drop Strategy

Share

MSCI confirmed its plan to exclude Strategy and Metaplanet from its global equity benchmarks, along with several other companies holding crypto treasuries, after a month-long consultation process. JPMorgan analysts estimate the decision could trigger $2.8 billion in forced selling, a figure that could rise to $8-11 billion if FTSE Russell and S&P Dow Jones follow suit. Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, downplayed the impact, stating that digital assets are smarter, faster, and stronger, and that investors and the nation will disagree with MSCI. Crypto treasury companies collectively hold over $100 billion in assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, HYPE, and SOL. The final list of companies to be delisted will be published on November 11, 2026.
