Criminals stole between $90 million and $93 million in cryptocurrency by hiding hardware implants inside Ledger hardware wallets sold through CryptoBilis, an authorized reseller based in Southeast Asia. Ledger confirmed the compromise of at least one device and advised against initializing devices purchased from CryptoBilis within the past 90 days. Tether froze USDT associated with the compromised wallets, but holders of Bitcoin and other decentralized tokens have no equivalent protection.
