The co-founder and chief cryptographer at Mysten Labs, Kostas Chalkias, has announced the processing of the first native quantum-resistant transaction on the Sui blockchain devnet. This operation uses the post-quantum signature algorithm ML-DSA-65, standardized by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Integration of this standard on the testnet is planned by the end of the year, followed by deployment on the mainnet in the first quarter of 2027, subject to validation of independent audits and testnet feedback.
