U.S. stock futures were stable Tuesday night ahead of the September inflation report release. Bank of America shares dropped more than 2% after the firm was hit with over $1.2 billion in federal penalties for failing to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted their second consecutive session of losses, weighed down by a semiconductor sector slump and growing fears of an AI spending bubble. Analysts expect S&P 500 earnings growth of approximately 30% for the third quarter, with semiconductor growth projected at 130%. Economists forecast September inflation at 3.6% year-over-year, while the average gasoline price stands at $4.34 per gallon compared to $3.08 a year earlier.
