Hardware wallet maker Ledger has launched an investigation after reports of theft involving customers who bought devices from CryptoBilis, an authorized reseller based in Malaysia. The company has asked the reseller to halt all sales and shipments and has warned customers who made a purchase in the last 90 days. Blockchain investigator Specter estimates that losses may have surpassed $86 million and that hundreds of wallets on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron may have been affected. Binance co-founder CZ suggested the incident may be the result of a supply chain attack involving counterfeit or tampered hardware wallets.
