Goldman Sachs’ new hires will manage AI agents from day one

Goldman Sachs announced that new hires will supervise AI agents from the start of their careers, according to Kevin Sneader, head of Asia Pacific operations, at the Milken Institute Asia Summit in Singapore on October 8, 2026. The bank deployed Cognition’s coding agent Devin in 2025 to 12,000 engineers, then expanded Anthropic’s Claude to trade accounting, compliance, and client onboarding functions. Productivity gains exceed 20 percent in software engineering tasks. This initiative, called OneGS 3.0, may reduce the need for middle managers while creating training risks as junior staff no longer develop the traditional intuition built during early career years.
