Coinbase announced on October 7, 2026 that it had completed the integration of Deribit, the crypto options platform it acquired for approximately $2.9 billion in August 2025, creating the Coinbase Global Exchange. This new CFTC-regulated platform, operating through Coinbase Financial Markets, is the first US-regulated route allowing eligible traders to access global options and perpetual futures markets. Bitcoin options open interest on the platform topped $30 billion as of September 30, 2026, and Deribit processed more than $1 trillion in trading volume over the year prior to integration. The rollout will be staged, with institutional clients prioritized and US retail options access expected later in 2026.
