Microsoft’s official X account was hijacked to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency token called $CLIPPY, inspired by the tech company’s famous virtual assistant. This attack follows a series of hijackings targeting Microsoft’s X accounts, including its India branch in June 2024 used to promote a GameStop cryptocurrency pre-sale.
