Berkshire buys more Lennar shares, but pace of purchases slows

Berkshire Hathaway raised its stake in homebuilder Lennar to 11.2%, representing 26.6 million shares worth $2.1 billion. Last week, the company invested an average of $58 million per day, but this week the pace slowed to just under $18 million per day. Morgan Stanley initiated coverage with an underweight rating and a $65 price target, compared to Friday’s closing price of $79.81. Meanwhile, Warren Buffett reclaimed the No. 10 spot on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest billionaires with an estimated net worth of $143 billion. Mortgage rates have climbed to 7.30%, the highest level since late 2023, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.
