Nearly 1,400 workers were laid off from the Navistar truck factory in southwestern Ohio just three days before Donald Trump’s rally in the Dayton area, erasing essentially a full year of job growth in the region. Kyle Bos, a 30-year-old United Auto Workers member who had voted for Trump three times, now plans to canvass for Democratic candidates, saying something has to change politically in the country. The Dayton area has shed about half of its 90,000 factory jobs since 1990. Roshel, a Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer, is buying the plant and plans to more than double the workforce.
