Banking technology provider Fiserv has launched its digital asset platform in production with the Roughrider token on the Solana blockchain. More than 90 banks and credit unions in North Dakota are participating in the rollout, overseen by the Bank of North Dakota (BND). VersaBank USA issues the Roughrider token, described as a dollar-backed deposit with one-to-one backing, while Fiserv operates the platform. Token access remains restricted to financial institutions for interbank transfers through existing banking systems. Fiserv discloses neither actual payment volumes nor the active-sender count.
