President Donald Trump announced Friday that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will not take the artificial intelligence czar position. Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, noting that Bessent did not want the role and was doing an excellent job at Treasury. Last September, Trump had announced the creation of an AI Force and the upcoming appointment of an AI czar, describing artificial intelligence as the next Industrial Revolution capable of representing up to 25 percent of US gross domestic product.
