Shares of Akamai surge after deal with Anthropic. What Wall Street is saying

Akamai has signed an $11.6 billion deal with Anthropic for AI computing capacity over seven years. Shares briefly surged 16.4% to $128.46 before paring gains to around 8% on Friday. The deal focuses on CPUs rather than GPUs and could expand to $20 billion, with Anthropic also taking a stake in Akamai. The contract requires $5.5 billion in capital spending, and the company has signed $14.6 billion in total cloud commitments year-to-date. Wall Street analysts remain bullish, with price targets ranging from $158 to $185.
