Matrixdock has launched XAUm, the first tokenized gold asset on Circle’s Arc blockchain. Each token represents one ounce of gold held in vaults in Singapore and Hong Kong by Brink’s or Malca-Amit, with traceable numbered bars. The platform promises same-day cash for eligible sales, although its own documentation states a three working day settlement window. XAUm differentiates itself from competitors by requiring only 32.148 tokens for a one-kilogram bar (approximately $139,000), whereas Paxos requires 430 tokens for a London Good Delivery bar (approximately $1.8 million). With a market capitalization of $71 million, XAUm remains the smallest among major gold tokens, far behind Tether Gold ($2.52 billion) and PAX Gold ($2.32 billion).
