Bitcoin at $86,000: Peter Schiff Still Deems SEC Exemption on Tokenized Stocks Bearish for BTC

Bitcoin reached approximately $84,000 on Monday following the SEC’s September 17 announcement of a five-year exemption for tokenized stock trading, with issuers retaining veto rights over their own securities. Longtime Bitcoin critic economist Peter Schiff called this price surge illogical, arguing that the emergence of tokenized stocks backed by profitable dividend-paying companies poses a bearish threat to the cryptocurrency. In his view, investors would no longer need Bitcoin if they can hold the tokenized version of real stocks with real dividends. Since 2011, Schiff has predicted Bitcoin’s death at least 22 times without success, and BTC has yet to give up any of its gains despite his warnings.
