Swiss residents have access to five main platforms regulated by FINMA to buy Bitcoin in 2026: Swissquote, Mt Pelerin, Bitpanda, SwissBorg, and Bitcoin Suisse. Swissquote, the first Swiss bank to offer Bitcoin and listed on the SIX, allows purchases through its app in three steps after converting CHF to EUR or USD, with fees ranging from 1 % down to 0.08 % depending on trading volume. For investors preferring to avoid wallet and private key management, Bitcoin ETPs are available on the SIX Swiss Exchange, including the iShares Bitcoin ETP (TER of 0.15 %) and CoinShares Physical Bitcoin (over one billion euros in assets under management). In Switzerland, capital gains on Bitcoin are in principle exempt from income tax for private investors, but holdings must be declared as wealth as of December 31 and are subject to wealth tax.
