Nvidia plans to launch its GeForce RTX 60 series, based on the Rubin architecture, in 2028, approximately one year later than initially estimated. This decision stems from the pressure exerted by AI accelerator demand on TSMC, Nvidia’s chip manufacturer. The data center segment generates significantly higher margins per silicon wafer, prompting Nvidia to prioritize this business over consumer GPUs. In this context, the RTX 50 series, based on the Blackwell architecture, will benefit from an extended product lifecycle. AMD finds itself in a similar position with its RDNA 5 lineup, also expected in 2028.
