BitGo Bank & Trust has partnered with TOYOSA S.A., Bolivia’s exclusive distributor for Toyota, Lexus, and Yamaha, to enable USDT stablecoin payments for vehicle purchases. The first transaction was recorded on September 20, 2025, with customers able to pay via QR code scanning at Toyosa and Crown dealerships. The Central Bank of Bolivia reported 294 million dollars in crypto-asset payments during the first half of 2025, representing a 630% increase compared to 46.5 million dollars for all of 2024. Towerbank provides the regulated payment processing and fiat integration, while BitGo secured a national bank charter from the OCC in December 2025. By late 2025, the USDT payment system had expanded to BYD and Yamaha dealerships under Crown Ltda., covering three major vehicle brands in this single Latin American market.
