Ripple CLO Reassures XRP Holders After Clarity Failure

Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s chief legal officer, moved to reassure the XRP community after the Senate’s dramatic failure to advance the Clarity Act. Senators voted 49-50 against invoking cloture on the legislation, falling 11 votes short of the required 60-vote threshold. Alderoty highlighted the 2023 federal court ruling that established XRP is not a security, as well as a March joint interpretation from the SEC and CFTC confirming this status. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed his disappointment, blaming Democratic politics for the outcome after months of intense negotiations. Despite the defeat, he remains optimistic that the SEC and CFTC will continue to issue rules to fill the legislative gap.
