An Ethereum prototype dividing blob-recovery duties among nodes reported an 11 to 18 times reduction in estimated reconstruction computing work across 1,000-node simulations. Researcher Csaba Kiraly described on September 3 a reduced design that assigns specific blobs to high-custody nodes first, allowing them to share recovered data rather than letting each node rebuild independently. In a configuration with four blobs and 10% supernodes, the estimated network-wide reconstruction cost fell from 48.6 CPU-seconds to 2.75 CPU-seconds. Full RowDAS, specified in draft EIP-8371, remains a later step; current measurements come from simulations only with no devnet results.
