Asia sees digital asset custody infrastructure deals from Ripple, Coincheck

Ripple has partnered with SettleMint to offer Asian financial institutions solutions for custody and tokenized asset management across their full lifecycle. Coincheck Group has teamed up with DFNS to build digital wallet technology and custody services in Japan, supporting over 100 blockchain networks. These partnerships aim to address the infrastructure gap hindering regulated financial institutions from entering the digital asset market. The Asia-Pacific region ranked as the fastest-growing area for onchain crypto activity with a 69% year-over-year increase in value received according to Chainalysis’s 2025 global adoption index. Japan recently classified crypto assets as financial assets under its Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, with Finance Minister Katsumi Katayama signaling intent to bring crypto under the same umbrella as traditional finance assets.
