10 Billion Dollars and Trump’s Praise: Why Didn’t Micron Stock Move?

Share

Micron announced a 10 billion dollar investment over ten years to create research labs in Boise, Idaho, operational by 2027, adding to the more than 250 billion dollars already planned for US investment by 2035. Despite Donald Trump’s lavish praise on Truth Social, calling Micron one of the most prominent companies in the world, MU stock ended the August 27 session slightly down 0.48%, then about 0.8% after hours. This lack of reaction strongly contrasts with Dell, whose shares surged 8 to 10% on three occasions in 2026 following similar presidential endorsements, gaining approximately 255% since February. Analysts attribute this indifference to the repetition of presidential compliments, which dilutes their impact on stock prices, and to the fact that Micron already shows a gain of more than 228% year-to-date, with the stock now trading on fundamentals, the memory cycle and AI-related demand.
