Solana fee vote divides supporters as Charles Schwab adds SOL trading

Solana’s first major governance cycle has revealed disagreement over transaction fee reform. The SGP-0003 proposal recommends eliminating fixed signature fees and replacing them with fees based on computational usage. Co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko supports usage-based fees but requests the proposal be divided into separate decisions. Charles Schwab plans to add SOL, AVAX and LINK trading to its crypto platform in the coming months. Small transactions currently pay proportionally nearly 280 times more than large transactions in terms of computational work units.
