According to McKinsey and Artemis, approximately $390 billion in stablecoin payments took place in 2025. Within this market, AI agents are creating a particularly interesting type of payment activity. Research indicates that these agents completed over 176 million on-chain transactions worth more than $73 million between May 2025 and April 2026.
