$4.2M Frozen: Kraken Targeted by Dust Attack Linked to HTX

Kraken was targeted by a dust attack between August 17 and 24, when approximately 12,000 micro-transfers were sent from addresses linked to HTX, the European-sanctioned exchange, to wallets on the platform. This operation triggered the freezing of funds including a maximum amount of $4.2 million, as well as the temporary suspension of several user accounts. Kraken, required to verify any flow from sanctioned entities, had to immobilize these funds pending an investigation into their origin. HTX denies orchestrating this maneuver and suggests a possible malicious third party attempting to harm the exchange.
