Dolores Research has launched WAGMI Bench, an open-source framework designed to evaluate AI trading agents in BTC perpetuals markets, mirroring the approach that SWE-bench took for coding agents. The benchmark tests agents across 13 historical periods, including events like the Covid-19 crash and the ETH approval window, covering 3,150 decision points per agent under consistent rules. Rather than leading with profit-and-loss figures, WAGMI Bench evaluates agents on survival and engagement metrics, and is released under an Apache-2.0 license for anyone to fork or extend. A community token called $DOLORES was also launched through Virtuals Protocol on Robinhood Chain, with 2% of total supply allocated to veVIRTUAL stakers as a coordination and research support layer. The timing aligns with the May 2026 CFTC approval of a true BTC perpetual and major exchanges building infrastructure specifically for AI agents.
