Chelsea rejected AS Roma’s loan request for winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is 21 years old. The London club paid between £48.5m and £55m to sign the player from Borussia Dortmund last July 2025, tying him to a contract running until June 2032. Hamstring and muscular injuries disrupted his 2025/26 campaign, but Chelsea has made clear it will neither loan nor permanently sell him. New manager Xabi Alonso has included Gittens in his plans for the 2026/27 season, and the player has returned to pre-season training fully fit.
