CoreWeave has signed a multi-year SSD supply agreement with Solidigm, Intel’s flash storage subsidiary, securing priority access to drives with capacities reaching 122 terabytes. The two companies are co-developing direct-to-chip liquid-cooled SSDs, a technology suited to handle the high thermal density generated by these drives in GPU clusters. This partnership comes as QLC SSDs offer an optimal balance between storage density and cost per terabyte for read-intensive workloads typical of AI model training. Earlier in 2025, CoreWeave had already secured an $11.9 billion commitment from OpenAI and acquired Core Scientific for approximately $9 billion, converting former Bitcoin mining infrastructure into AI compute capacity.
