Bybit EU has obtained an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), through its subsidiary Bybit Payments GmbH. This new regulatory authorization enables the platform to offer expanded services, including peer-to-peer payments, e-money solutions, strong customer authentication and open banking features. Bybit EU will also be able to develop merchant payment solutions and future payment card initiatives. This EMI license complements the MiCA license obtained a year earlier, strengthening Bybit’s strategic positioning across Europe.
