Bitcoin mining evolves: Canaan buys stock, MARA manages BTC, Bitdeer’s AI pivot, and more

Canaan announced a $30 million share buyback program to narrow the gap between its market value and the combined worth of its Bitcoin holdings and cash reserves, which total approximately $130 million in digital assets. MARA transferred 6,000 BTC, worth approximately $384.6 million, to TwoPrime as part of active treasury management, with transfers executed in multiple 500 BTC batches outside exchange wallets. Bitdeer signed a $4.7 billion, 16-year lease for its 121 MW Norway campus, transforming it into an AI and high-performance computing facility backed by $1.3 billion in credit support. These developments show that Bitcoin miners are no longer accumulating passively and are instead managing their reserves strategically while maintaining long-term Bitcoin exposure.
