Commissioner Julie Inman Grant stated the platform maintained a permissive environment where extremist content was easy to find and could be used to plan attacks. The proceedings came a day after Russia’s FSB charged Telegram founder Pavel Durov with aiding terrorism. Telegram rejects the allegations and will contest them in court.
