ZachXBT identified Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, a French bank holding more than €235 billion in assets, as the European financial institution behind an alleged crypto theft exceeding $133 million. The stolen USDC and USDT were reportedly moved through ETH swaps, instant exchanges, Monero and cross-chain bridges, with the total potentially exceeding initial estimates. Bitquery traced $108.8 million in USDC withdrawals from Kraken, Crypto.com and OKX to 15 wallets over 21 hours on November 1 and 2, then tracked funds across 332 wallets. About $61 million in ETH remained on Ethereum as of November 3, while Tether had frozen $1.14 million in USDT and Circle had not frozen the remaining $2.53 million in USDC. The attacker remains unidentified, and ZachXBT said the available laundering indicators point away from the North Korea-linked Lazarus Group.
