More than 260 players who featured in the 2026 World Cup switched clubs during the subsequent transfer window, generating roughly $4 billion in related fees. English Premier League clubs were the biggest spenders with $3.82 billion in transfer fees across the year. The men’s transfer market recorded a record 24,558 international moves, while the women’s market reached only $28.6 million, roughly 457 times less.
