The Federal Reserve is likely to raise interest rates at its mid-September meeting. According to historical analysis of previous first hikes following a rate-cut cycle, the impact on the stock market would be temporary. Market weakness historically lasted only about a month before the hike and a month after. Investors should therefore focus on more important concerns, according to Mark Hulbert.
